Your Guide to Grilled Salmon by Nutritionist Alicia Spangenberger
total time: 15 minutes
servings: 2
Ingredients:
2 six ounce Villa frozen salmon portions, thawed
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 lime
Instructions:
Starting with high quality salmon is imperative to a high quality end product so get your Villa frozen portions thawed or grab some fresh salmon from the local market. For this recipe, we’re using Villa 6 oz portions.
Heat up your grill and let it run for at least 5 minutes before putting the salmon on so the grate is piping hot.
Pat your salmon dry and then liberally coat with olive oil. This oil coating allows the seasonings to remain intact to the salmon surface while being grilled.
We love that charred seasoning taste so grab your favorite seasoning and mix it together prior to putting it on the salmon. For this recipe we used chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Don’t be shy with the seasoning - apply it all over the salmon portions and don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty!
Place the pieces of salmon on the grill and make sure you hear that sizzle - the trick is to get the perfect charr on each side without overcooking the salmon. Close the grill and let the salmon cook for about 4 minutes on each side with the grill on medium heat.
Remove from the grill and finish off with your favorite citrus, we chose lime for this recipe!
